Describe a person you wanted to be similar to when you were growing up.
You should say:
- who the person was
- what the person did
- how you knew him/her
and explain why you wanted to be like him/her when you were growing up.

Model Answer:
To tell the truth, I wanted to be like many people, when I was growing up. In fact, if I wanted to be a film star one day, the very next day, I would want to become a famous football star. So, it was actually a never-ending “conquest” for me to choose my “role model” until one day, I finally decided to make up my mind for who I really wanted to identify myself with.
And, it turned out to be none other than my third uncle. Of course, my third uncle was neither like a film star nor like a football superstar; rather, I found him to be a regular person as I was growing up.
He was a strong lad, in his mid 20’s, with a good physical build, and he was a tall person with brownish complexion and dark hair. He indeed used to act like a very “regular” person (at least, I thought so back then), but he wasn’t exactly like other regular persons of his age because he used to “command” a certain type authority over them, either because of his positive attitude or “gifted” communication skills. He was a lecturer by profession, but I found him to be more interested in learning from others instead of actually “teaching” them something.
I had a very warm relationship with my third uncle, as he always would have made his time to listen to me, whether he was running to his college for work or going to do some grocery shopping. At first glance, my uncle would come to you as a “reserve” person with a very few words to share, but once people would get to know him little better, he could easily be considered as the nicest person to be around.
Anyway, I wanted to become like my third uncle, when I was growing up because I found him to be a very easy going person with nothing really to complain about. Besides, I wanted to become like him also because people around him would respect him and consider him as a “wise” and honest person.
