Model Answer:

As soon as I looked at the topic, I knew that I should be talking about ‘Solar Energy’, which is non-polluting energy and can be a game-changer, in my opinion, if utilised properly. Yet the technology isn’t as widely used as it should have been.

Life on earth came to be or still exists due to the energy we get from the Sun. It helps our planet support life and is in the centre of energy on earth. The sun will, perhaps, continue to shine and distribute energy for millions of years to come, and this ‘solar energy’ technology will be available as long as the sun shines.

Anyway, solar energy technology enables us to store and use the already available energy, over and over again, from the sun. I support more use of it because this technology is not detrimental to the environment and could save our planet if more widely used.

Despite some statistics that boast the increasing use of solar energy or initiatives from governments in different countries, it is still an under-used technology. In my country, the scenario is even worse as I don’t see enough use of it even by the government offices.

Solar energy, by the use of solar panels, can help solve climate change problems to a great extent. Global warming is already threatening our existence on this planet and the use of fossil fuel is damaging it even more every passing day. Since solar panels generate clean energy without harming the environment, it could be a magic potion to solve the climate change problems while also offering renewable energy sources to distant parts of the world where electricity has not made its way yet.

Considering all the benefits it brings and its positive impacts on our environment, there is no denying that we should make this technology as widespread, cheap and accessible as possible, and that should be done soon.
