You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
You are a member of a club in your locality. You believe that your club can raise some funds and help homeless people.
Write a letter to the secretary of the club. In your letter,
- say why you are writing
- explain how your club can raise money to help people
- mention why your club should do that
Write at least 150 words.
You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Mr Johnson,
I am Alex Stuart, a member of the club “Together Today & Tomorrow” in which you chair the position of honourable secretary. I am writing to suggest that our club should raise funds for the poor and homeless people. I am hoping that you would seriously consider it.
Due to the pandemic, closure of many small businesses, and economic distress, the number of homeless people and destitute families has risen to a new height. Since our club is always cordial about helping people in need, I believe most of our members would agree that we should extend our helping hands to those needy people. We can ask our members, their family and friends for food donations while also form a team of volunteers who would visit families in our community and collect money, clothes, food and water. We will then distribute those among homeless people and poor families.
Our club has always worked to help community people. Now at that desperate time, we should be more active to get engaged in humanitarian works. I believe that most members of our club would feel the same way. Therefore, I would request you to call a general meeting and discuss it with all the club members.
