You should say:
and explain why this film or TV programme made such an impression on you.
[You will have to talk about the topic for one to two minutes. You have one minute to think about what you are going to say. You can make some notes to help you if you wish.]
Model Answer:
These days, I have become a bit more selective in choosing films or TV programmes to watch as I am more about the substance and the underlying messages of these things than just their temporary entertainment values. Today, I would like to talk about one TV programme that had such underlying messages, and that made a strong impression on me.
This TV programme was a comedy show which I watched about a few months ago. By the way, even though, this comedy show started its journey only about a year ago by a group of rather young people, so far, it has done a very good job of highlighting many of the inconsistencies and irregularities, that our societies are facing today, in a very comical and yet very effective manner. Now, talking about the show, it talked about a few arising business entrepreneurs of one of the largest metropolitan cities of my country, who manoeuvred their way into politics overnight in order to hold a public office.
Earlier, of course, as the show “revealed”, these crooked entrepreneurs also had managed to sanction a huge amount of loan on their names, saying that they wanted to invest the money in their business ventures, but apparently, that was not the case as they actually used the loan in order to buy their influence in politics, as well as in purchasing luxury houses and cars for their families. At the end of the show, even though, these crooked businessmen didn’t get any punishment from the state, they eventually received some humiliating “justice” from Mother Nature in a very comical manner.
Anyway, the show made a huge impression on me, primarily because it showed very nicely how a group of so-called elites in our society, who we look upon for some guidance, is nothing but some crooked individuals who would do anything to benefit at the expense of their very societies in which they live. Besides, I had never really thought up and until watching that TV programme that a comedy show would be able to reveal the irregularities and inconsistencies within our societies in such an impeccable manner.
