You should say:
and explain why it was an interesting trip.
[You will have to talk about the topic for one to two minutes. You have one minute to think about what you are going to say. You can make some notes to help you if you wish.]

Having a national holiday on Monday is probably as gratifying as receiving your favourite gift on your birthday. So, just when I was busy arguing with my mind on how to spend a 3-day weekend (having Saturday and Sunday as the regular weekend), a couple of my friends (David, Mark and Gilmore) came to my “rescue”, offering me to share a trip with them in order to visit the tallest mountain of my country. Needless to say, I immediately decided to grab this “God-given” opportunity with my two hands. It was a bright sunny Saturday morning, and we were already on the highway, driving our 4-door Honda sedan (a luxury car that we rented) with me on the steering wheel.
It was a long drive to the mountain with a travelling distance of about 400 miles from our city, and we couldn’t exactly drive fast enough due to the speed limit. So, we gave up the hope of reaching our destination as early as possible in an attempt to see the mountain-top crystal clear while the “uncle sun” was still “shining and smiling” at us. But, then later, we thought that we could probably make it on schedule if we didn’t waste any time on the roadside to freshen us up by stopping at the “resting places” every couple of hours or so. Not sure if the traffics also were slow on that day, but we did manage to reach the mountain site before our expected time of arrival.
Having never travelled such a long distance in a car, we knew that we were up for a big challenge, and we “aced” it without any trouble. Besides, being the only designated driver on that trip because of possessing a full driver’s license, I knew that I was in charge, which also meant that I could play any music/song I liked! What made my trip even more interesting was the fact that I actually got to try some farm-fresh “fetta cheese and halloumi” (made from goat milk), which I bought from a roadside store without getting out of the car. Finally, spending the night in the car with my friends, while eating home-made foods in order to save some money (yes…foods and accommodation were really expensive at the mountain site), was probably just as much interesting of an experience as trying to capture one of the tallest mountains of the world with its majestic look by a tiny little camera not more than 3 inches tall. Bon voyage until next time!
