Model Answer:

I love all kinds of animals unless, of course, they are violent and coming to hurt/eat me. I enjoy reading/learning about them and watching programs about them on Animal Planet TV channel whenever I get an opportunity. I also like to visit them in animal sanctuaries even though I prefer to watch them in their natural habitat. However, when it comes to owning an animal, it has to be a “panda”. And, I would certainly want to own a panda, but it may not be possible because it is in the endangered list of animals declared by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

In fact, who wouldn’t want to own an animal as cute and adorable as Panda with their furry looks! Being native to south-central China, this endangered species has a body shape that is typical of bears, and they are easily recognized by their large and distinctive black patches around their eyes, over the ears and across its nicely shaped round white body. An adult panda can be about 4 feet to 6 feet that includes a tail which is half a foot long. Being primarily used to eating a diet of bamboo almost always (99% of the time), an adult male panda can also have an average weight of 100 kg to 115 kg. But, the females are smaller in size and weigh a lot less. A panda can easily stay warm in some really tough cold weather with its thick and woolly exterior while its large incisor teeth along with strong jaw muscles helps them to crush solid and hardened bamboos.

I like pandas mainly because they are very gentle and shy. In fact, watching a panda crushing his/her bamboo, by holding it with its soft paws and fingers, is too of an adorable sight to miss. I also like panda because it is not violent, and it doesn’t exactly rely on meats to survive. A panda can amuse us with its back and belly rubbing techniques along the sides of a rock or tree. Finally, I like pandas because I think that they have the coolest life ever as all they do is eat, sleep and play literally. Pandas are just great!
