We all have to deal with situations in our daily life where we make mistake and then apologize to each other in order to rectify the situations. Today, I would like to describe one such situation when someone apologized to me.
It all happened about a few months ago when I went to visit a restaurant with some of my friends to enjoy some dinner during a busy late Friday evening. The restaurant was so busy that we actually had to wait for at least 30 minutes to get a table. Of course, we didn’t mind waiting because we already knew that Friday evening was the busiest time of the week. But, after getting our table finally, we actually had to wait about another 15 minutes or so for a waiter to come to us and take our orders, which was a bit frustrating.
However, little later, we felt like we were being ignored by the restaurant staffs for some mysterious reasons because, after all, we felt like we were not given enough time to choose our foods from the menu. In fact, the waiter sort of snatched the menu from our hands without actually giving us enough time to decide on our drinks. Needless to say, this kind of unruly behaviour made us a bit annoyed, but we didn’t want to create a scene there until the dinner was over. So, after finishing our meal, we confronted the restaurant manager and complained about the rude behaviour of his waiter. The manager, of course, apologized to us on behalf of his waiter and assured us that it won’t happen again.
Anyway, the apology from the manager actually made us feel good and welcomed as we almost decided not to ever come back to that restaurant again. Besides, it also made me feel that we shouldn’t lose our patience in any situation because sometimes we are not just able to control the situations despite our best efforts and intention.
