Model Answer:
It is hard to believe that during my high school days, I was a good soccer (football) player. In fact, I used t be hired by some other school teams to compete against formidable oppositions. Of course, I don’t practice soccer anymore, but I still have a few football tricks and skills in me. So, when one of my young and elementary school going nephews requested me to teach him how to play soccer, I just couldn’t refuse.
The request to teach football to my nephew had come about 5 years ago. When I asked my nephew why he wanted to learn to play football, he simply told me that he wanted to play with his fellow school students. But, little did I know that he was also planning to become a member of his school football team – a football team which would play against other school teams in a yearly football tournament.
So I started to teach the basic of soccer sport. But as I was teaching him the basics, my nephew was growing impatient as he said that he already knew all the basics of the game. So, I started to teach him the techniques of passing the ball to the teammates by dribbling as well as by using “butt”. Needless to say, my nephew was enjoying all those techniques which I was teaching him. But, he kept asking for even more even though I told him to talk it slow and easy. But, he was not in a mood to listen to my advice, and instead, he kept asking me for more and more techniques. So, I also taught him to flick, move, or give a killer pass, or even just a dummy, meaning letting the ball run through one’s legs to an open player.
Anyway, I am pretty sure that my football techniques had helped my nephew to become a good soccer player, even though I haven’t seen him playing in the field. But, I knew that I helped him for sure when he told me one day that he was included in his school football team to play against another school.
