Model Answer:
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter to seek your permission to change a particular course I have registered for at the beginning of this semester.
I am a student of the Business Administration faculty in your college, and currently, I am taking several courses, including “pre-calculus” as part of my effort to take calculus in the next semester. But, after studying it for a while and discussing it with some of my senior university-attending brothers, I have decided to switch to finite math from pre-calculus, as it would help me build a stronger foundation on the principles of calculus before actually taking the math course in next summer.
Besides, I have also been told that understanding finite math is much easier than pre-calculus. However, while I have my own opinion and preference, I strongly believe that your advice in this regard was more appropriate and timely as you have also suggested me to take finite math.
So, after considering my plan and preference, and your suggestions, I feel that taking finite math is a better option than studying pre-calculus this semester. And I would like to request you to please help me change the subject at your earliest convenience.
Yours faithfully,
Rabindra Jain
