Model Answer: [Disagreement]

In recent years, there has been a significant shift towards digital media and the internet. It is now possible to access news, books, and other written content online without having to pay for it. Some argue that this trend will continue, and eventually, people will stop buying printed newspapers and books altogether. However, I disagree with this statement to a large extent.

One tantalising reason why people will continue to buy printed newspapers and books is that they offer a different experience than reading online. Reading a book and being able to touch it gives an experience that online books fail to offer. For example, many people enjoy the tactile experience of holding a book or a newspaper in their hands and turning the pages. Additionally, reading from a screen for extended periods of time can be tiring for the eyes, while reading a printed book or newspaper is more comfortable. Despite technological development, printed books are still eye-friendly while reading on a digital screen can be tiring and detrimental for our eyes.

Furthermore, there are still many people who do not have access to the internet or who prefer not to read from screens. This includes older people, those who live in rural areas with limited internet connectivity, and those who simply prefer the traditional method of reading. These people will continue to buy printed newspapers and books, ensuring that they remain relevant in the future.

In conclusion, while it is likely that the popularity of printed newspapers and books will continue to decline in the future, I do not believe that they will ever become completely obsolete. The palpable experience, eye-friendliness and preference for traditional methods of reading will ensure that there will always be a market and demand for them.
