Model Answer:

It is not always easy to enjoy any conversation at a party because too much commotion and noise there can easily distract us. But, despite such distraction, I never lose a chance to talk to somebody interesting at a party. Today, I would like to talk about one such interesting person, and then explain why I enjoyed the conversation with him.

His name was James. I never really met him before until I attended that particular birthday party of my little nephew’s friend about a year ago. At that party, a number of other guests had also arrived, and I met James while I was trying to introduce myself to them. Interestingly enough, even though, James was the father of a friend of the birthday boy (and I came to figure it out when I found a little girl calling him “dad”), he didn’t exactly introduce himself as such. Instead, he introduced himself as the official and “distinguished violin player”, and I had no other option but to believe him because he was carrying a rather sophisticated-looking violin around his neck.

James was a rather bubbly person, and he was able to cheer up even the most depressed of a person. And I found that out when he started talking to me about different serious issues with touches of humour. At one point in our conversation, he asked me if I was into playing any musical instruments. In response, I told him that I liked music, but I was never talented enough to play any kind of musical instrument. Hearing my response, he told me that everybody should learn to play either violin, piano or guitar and play them in front of their children. Our conversation kept going for some more time on the benefits of playing a musical instrument until we were offered some refreshments.

Well, the conversation was short but rather stimulating and enjoyable because it taught me a number of benefits of listening to music and playing musical instruments, which were completely unknown to me up until that point. The conversation was interesting also because it humorously presented some rather serious issues.
