Model Answer:
I have always held a great level of admiration for all types of writers because of their creative works. Sometimes, I even think that if I had the means and opportunities, I would actually meet them one by one, just like I would like to meet Mr Stephen King someday.
Stephen King, in full Stephen Edwin King, is an American novelist and short-story writer who made his fame through writing horror, supernatural fiction, suspense, crime, science-fiction, and fantasy novels. So far, Stephen king has proved himself as such a skilful writer that many of his works have actually been adapted into films, television series, miniseries, and comic books. Being credited with reviving the genre of horror fiction in the late 20th century, this great American novelist and the short-story teller has sold more than 350 million copies of his books.
Born in the year of 1947, Stephen king published and sold his first novel called “Carrie” in the year of 1973 and since then, he didn’t really have any time to look back. In fact, after “Carrie”, this prolific short-story writer has eventually become the ‘New York Times’-bestselling novelist who made his name in the horror and fantasy genres with books like ‘Carrie’, ‘The Shining’ and ‘IT’. Not to mention, of course, the movie (and also the book with the same name) “Shawshank Redemption” which has widely been acclaimed as one of the greatest movies of all time.
Anyway, I would like to meet Stephen King, one of the greatest writers of all times in my opinion, mainly because I would like to find out a bit more about him which can’t be known through TV documentaries or news articles. For example, I would really like to know if he had any personal life experience that influenced him to write horror stories. Besides, I would also like to know how he managed to overcome all his personal life obstacles, like severe addiction to alcohol and drugs, in his life before becoming the world-famous writer “Stephen King” today.
