Model Answer:
Considering how most movies are made and what they exhibit to the viewers, and from my personal experience as a movie fan, I can say that movies hardly ever portray people or situation in real life. So, apart from only a few movies, I believe, most are unrealistic. Some are almost make-belief, often so ludicrous that they are laughable.
I’d not say that all movies are unrealistic as there are still some cinemas that are based on real events or real people, but they are very few in number contemplating the thousands of movies that get released every year. Most movies are made to delight the audience while also making profits from them. So the business and money are always involved. Those movies have “heroes” who get involved in complex and dangerous situations and yet get out of every situation without a scratch. Computer animation, special effects, VFX and professional editing in most superhero movies are not only unrealistic but comes from pure imagination.
Moreover, stories are essentially exaggerated and they take twists and turns so abruptly that they have hardly any connection with reality. For example, I can recall watching some movies based on scientific themes in which a powerful stone can change the course of the planet and save the entire humanity. So silly!
Now we can talk about why films, in general, are so popular. Well, they are entertaining and the whole experience of watching a movie at a theatre or home often gives people a reason to enjoy the company of their friends and family while also forgetting the stress of their everyday life. Personally, I believe that movies are so famous and widely enjoyed because they take us to a world that is thrilling and suspenseful. Sometimes they also teach us important lessons.
I think films are a powerful art form and have been a source of pure excitement for mass people for decades. It has both positive and negative impacts on society. It often motivates us to do better in life while also shape our thinking as a whole. On the contrary, it can incite violence, indecency and unethical practices among its followers.
