They say that “simple” is better, but I say that “simple” is the best, considering how a simple road trip can turn out to be the most fun trip, one can ever take. Today, I would like to talk about one such simple road trip which also happened to be my most fun trip ever.
Back in the high school days, nothing really was able to make me as happy as the news of visiting my grandpa’s house. So, when, one day, about 10 years ago, I was allowed to take a road trip with my cousins (who lived close to me in the same town) to visit my grandpa’s house, on a bus, I felt like I was flying in the moon with joy. The trip was expected to last for about 7/8 hours, including a stopover of 25 minutes.
Anyway, we never used this route before because it would take longer to reach our destination, but we took it this time because we desperately wanted to see the “swimming dolphins in action” in a river while crossing over it on our way. And, it looked like we were in luck as we indeed enjoyed the rare sight of dolphins in action! Next, when our bus took its first “stopover”, the trip got even more interesting because we used our 25-minute stopover to drink fresh ‘juice’ from date palm trees by travelling little deep into a village! By the way, until I took this road trip, I had no idea that the countryside of my country was so refreshingly beautiful and picturesque.
It was arguably the most fun trip of my life because it allowed me to enjoy the beautiful nature of my country in a very intimate fashion like never before. Besides, the experience of enjoying the fresh juice after collecting it straight from a date palm tree was simply extraordinary. Finally, it also made me feel like I was being treated by my parents as an adult for the first time, as they decided to leave alone with my cousins.
