Begin your letter as follows:

Model Answer:
Dear Mitch,
I haven’t heard from you for a long time. I guess you must be busy these days. I was busy these last few weeks and could not write to you.
Anyway, you would be glad to know that I have finally got admitted to a training course on Career Counseling, which you recommended to me a few months ago. I have finally understood the importance of taking this training course since it would help me a great deal in becoming a successful Human Resource Management Personnel. After all, after finishing this training course, I would be able to motivate the employees of my future company to perform better at work.
So, that was the good news. But, the bad news, of course, is that I have moved to another city – a bigger one in that – because the training institute is a bit far away from where I was living previously, and you know how I don’t like living in big cities. It is much busier but I have rented a bigger apartment which in on the 14th floor and within the walking distance of the training institute.
Apart from taking that training course, I am trying to learn some Japanese language. Besides, I have also bought a bicycle in order to do some physical exercises. So, what about you? Please write to me sometimes.
Warm wishes,
Frederick Gomez
